In the world of commercial cleaning, the focus is almost always on the visible results: the polished floors, the sanitized desks, and the streak free windows. But at Ancenta Cleaning Services, we’ve always believed that you cannot achieve those high-level results without a foundation of genuine care.
Recently, leadership asked an important question about the state of our company: Where do we really stand? Are we just “on par” with the industry? Are we below? Above? What exactly are we building here?
The answer didn’t come from a spreadsheet or a monthly report. It came from a deep and meaningful conversation during a team meeting that stopped us all in our tracks.
The Corporate Gap vs. The Small Business Heart
One of our newest leaders, Operations Manager Laverne Thompson, recently joined us after years in the corporate world. Her perspective provided the clarity we were looking for.
In her experience, huge companies often suffer from a people “connection gap.” When employees feel like just another number, dedication naturally slips. People clock in, do the bare minimum, and leave because no one is checking in on them- not just as workers, but as human beings.
At Ancenta, we’ve intentionally built the opposite. As Laverne noted, “People care here. There’s a real human connection.” We’ve found that when you prioritize the person over the task, three things happen:
- Loyalty is Earned, Not Assigned: When a team knows their leadership truly cares about their well-being, they don’t just show up; they show up with a sense of purpose.
- “Above and Beyond” Becomes the Norm: This isn’t just a corporate buzzword for us. It is the natural byproduct of being happy at work.
- The Human Connection: Checking in on someone “just as a person” changes the entire dynamic of a workday. It builds a team that supports one another rather than just working alongside one another.
The “Glow” Factor: Leadership & Team Energy
It was incredibly rewarding to hear Laverne describe the Ancenta staff as having “good vibes” and a “bubbly” energy. There is a specific kind of pride that shows when an employee is excited to show off their work and share their plans for the next project.
That energy starts at the top. Laverne mentioned that when leadership walks into the room, the energy “goes from one to a thousand.”
True leadership isn’t about standing over people with a clipboard; it’s about creating an environment where the team feels supported enough to shine. When a team “glows” in the presence of their leaders, it’s a sign of mutual respect and shared goals.
What This Means for Ancenta Clients
You might wonder: What does a “bubbly” staff have to do with my office being clean? The answer is everything. A happy, dedicated employee notices the small details that a disconnected worker misses. A loyal team member treats your facility with the same respect they would in their own home. By investing in our people and maintaining these “good vibes,” we aren’t just building a better workplace- we are ensuring a superior level of service for every client we serve.
Kudos to the team for keeping the standards high and the energy even higher. We’ve got some wonderful ideas for the future, and we can’t wait to bring them to life.
